What you choose to invest in is a factor of your attitude to risk, the length of time you wish to invest for and the returns you hope to achieve vs the losses you would tolerate. Which tax wrapper you hold the investment within is determined by your current financial position and tax status, as well as the one you think you will be in when you require access to the investment.

The process can be straightforward or complex depending on client requirements but before you even start thinking about choosing which company to invest with, you must assess your attitude towards risk, the risk ratings of different products, decide upon the correct length of time to invest and look at the possible tax implications.
